Pete is a co-founder and Managing Director of ATA Ventures with participation in ATA’s first three funds. He currently serves on the Board of Directors at Adesto Technologies and Lavante and is an advisor to Theranos. His prior investments in the fund include NeoPhotonics (NPTN – IPO in 2011), Nanogram (Acquired by Teijin) and Revera (Acquired by Nova).
Prior to ATA Ventures, Pete was a General Partner with Institutional Venture Partners (IVP) for 15 years. Prior to IVP he was an Associate with Technology Venture Investors (TVI) for three years. While at IVP and TVI he led successful investments in Atmel (ATML), Cirrus Logic (CRUS), Altera (ALTR), Transmeta (TMTA), FormFactor (FORM), @Road (ARDI), Office Club (OCLB), Telcom Semi (TLCM) and other successful M&A deals such as Silicon Light Machines, Menlo Care, and IC Works.
Prior to becoming a VC, Pete spent 14 years in industry with his last seven years at Intel Corporation where he was a Division Engineering Manager for OEM Memory Systems, was the Strategic Business Manager for two divisions, and ran Product Marketing for the Memory Systems Division.
Pete graduated Magna Cum Laude from Utah State University with a BSEE degree and completed his MS in Computer Science at the University of Santa Clara. He is a member of the Utah State University Foundation Board and a recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award.
